First Look At ‘Thor’

Marvel has released, via Yahoo,Â the first photo of Chris Hemsworth as Thor in the upcomingÂ Â feature film adaptation of the comic book “Thor.”Â On one hand, it looks like the costume is staying close to the source material.Â But on the other hand it looks a little silly.Â I wonder how this will look on film?Â What do you think?

This reminds me of when WB revealed the first pic of Brandon Routh as Superman. He looked silly in the picture, but it worked much better in the film. I hope the same can be said for Mr. Hemsworth.

I think that in fact is going to be the hardest part about this movie. Keeping close enough to the source as well as not making the costume look totally ridiculous…(just like the source material…personally I thought he always kind of looked goofy in the comics too)…that being said..it's not bad at all…the cape looks kind of cool…very superhero-ey. I actually dont' know much about thor at all..but we'll see…I'm not hating this picture.

Later on he'll be standing next to an iron suit, a hulking green giant, and a man who's costume is practically the American flag. He'll look fine. =P

Where's his winged helmet though? It ain't Thor without his winged helmet. And Mjolnir. The hammer so bad-ass it had a name.

I'm sure he has a helmet, he's just no wearing it in this shot, much as I'm sure he's wearing boots depsite them not being visible. >_> I think that works. And Mjolnir? Shit, I want to say something but it's spoilerish. Seen Iron-Man 2 yet?
