Nuke The Fridge Alert: George Lucas’ ‘Red Tails’

Update: Supposedly Lucasfilm is denying reports made by First Showing regarding George Lucas directing “massive reshoots” of ‘Red Tails.’

Lucasfilm says, “George Lucas and Rick McCallum are very pleased with the work Anthony Hemingway did directing the film and additional shooting that is scheduled to take place was built into production before it began, as it is on all our films.”

Considering Lucas’ past though, I don’t know how much stock you should put in their “official word.” For the sake of this movie, let’s hope this is true. The last thing ‘Red Tails’ needs would be George Lucas directing reshoots. Anybody but him!

Original Story: If anything should have been learned from the atrocious “Star Wars” prequels is that George Lucas should never sit in a director’s chair again. Unfortunately it looks like Lucas didn’t get the memo.

First Showing is reporting that George Lucas is stepping behind the camera to direct “massive reshoots” on the upcoming World War II film about the Tuskegee Airmen, “Red Tails.” According to their source Lucas was very “displeased” with the footage shot by director Anthony Hemingway. Along with the reshoots, Lucas has taken to doing some “hefty rewrites” as well.

Principal photography on the film, starring Terrance Howard and Cuba Gooding, Jr., ended in November. Supposedly Lucasfilm is trying to decide exactly how much of the film to reshoot.

Of course knowing Lucas, this probably means that the existing footage of “Red Tails” is actually pretty good and the story makes sense. So expect this movie to take a massive turn for the bad and probably nuke the fridge like most everything Lucas touches these days.

You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be actually one thing which I feel I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very broad for me. I am having a look forward on your next post, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!

I do trust all of the concepts you have offered in your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for beginners. May just you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
