Resident film villain Bill Nighy (“Underworld,” “Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3”) will portray a demon prince who is in pursuit of Dr. Frankenstein’s original creature. Furthermore, Australian actor Socratis Otto (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) has signed on to play the part of the demon prince’s second-in-command.
The storyline of the film is as follows:
Frankenstein’s creature, Adam (Aaron Eckhart,) has survived to the present day thanks to a genetic quirk in his creation. He arrives at a gothic metropolis and finds himself caught in an epic war between two immortal clans.
Kevin Grevioux who wrote the graphic novel and is co-writer on the screenplay had this to say:
“You know, any number of vampires, werewolves, Dracula, zombies, ghosts, goblins. Regardless of saying that, it’s going to be totally serious. It’s going to take itself seriously, but not take itself too seriously and it’s going to be cool. It’s basically one of the things that horror fans, like myself, have been wanting to see for a long time.”
“I, Frankenstein” will begin principle photography in February of 2012 in Victoria, Australia. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 22, 2013, and stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, and Socratis Otto. Kevin Grevioux and Stuart Beattie wrote the screenplay, from the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux. Stuart Beattie directs.
